the stimhack/queen comment was a joke, joke, joke.
sounds like it’s time to play and see what happens.

That’s good to hear, I’m still having trouble to find a code gate breaker in my Anarch decks (at least one that isn’t Knight). I always forget about Datasuckers as a means to safely facecheck, I think I need to get back into the Anarch mindset.
A good exercise would be to take some cards and brains into the backyard, dump them on the ground, then crap all over them. that helps.
Hey all, came in 2nd at a Store Champs today with a slightly modified version of the sMC Hammer deck. Atman over Gordian and 2 Stimhack over my Plascrete and a Deja Vu were incredible today. Having Stimhack for free 4 str Atman from SMC is a game changer for this deck. Anyway, the full list is as follows:
Edward Kim Humanity’s Hammer
15 influence spent (max 15) •••••••••••••••
45 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Order and Chaos
Event (10)
2x Déjà Vu
3x I’ve Had Worse
2x Stimhack
3x Sure Gamble
Hardware (2)
2x Grimoire
Resource (10)
3x Armitage Codebusting
3x Daily Casts
2x Kati Jones
2x Liberated Account
Icebreaker (7)
1x Atman •••
3x Corroder
2x Mimic
1x Yog.0

3x D4v1d
2x Datasucker
1x Djinn
2x Imp
1x Medium
1x Nerve Agent
2x Parasite
3x Self-modifying Code ••••• ••••
1x Sneakdoor Beta •••
I still think this deck is very strong and will be tweaking and testing this deck heading into the OCTGN Invitational and Regionals.
Very good news. I must be the unluckiest player of Stimhacks ever. I went 0-4 with SMC Hammer with my original list subbing two Stimhacks for two Deja Vu. Lost to two RP, one NEH and one Blue Sun.
Never had SMC with Stimhack through four games and in one, I drew both stims and the Atman and hated life.
No idea why other players of my SMC build do much better than I do when it counts. I was really bummed today. Though I know where mistakes were made.
Glad others are doing well though.
Thought I’d contribute my list. Doing well with it so far. Has a bit of trouble against heavy asset spam if it can’t find Imp. It’s mostly a rush + midrangey deck that doesn’t want to go too too long (Kati gives it reach, though). There are a few things I’m picking up from this thread: people are liking Atman and Djinn (for whatever reason), and SMC. Some of my reflections on having played him for about a week nonstop:
This deck is nothing shocking or special: it’s just good stuff that works well together. It’s a solid shell. In my testing though, I recommend going to Zu instead of Gordian to save money and influence. I highly recommend not playing the Shards. Thoughts and feedback appreciated.

I have to say I prefer SO to SMC too, I think that build is up there in the best kinds of kim builds right now. I’d like to see SoT to improve the value of the influence, both for legwork and SO, but that not withstanding, seems to stand up strong on it’s own.
I had SoT in here originally, but found that I most often used it to recur programs than SO.
Medium synergizes really significantly with Kim. It’s swingy as always (It’s still medium), but it allows for insane digging. I would be wary of using influence to get something similar, especially now that Anarchs have Memstrips as a one-card memory solution (although that’s less good in your build). I’d honestly prefer a CyberSolutions+medium over RDI.
Likewise, I’m wary of Legwork, as you have a similar card in faction (Wanton). While WD is clunkier, it also provides options/opportunities that Legwork doesn’t. It’s also useful as a way to hurt someone who’s staying at 4 cards to avoid giving you Vigil draw.
I’ve only died twice two meat damage with WD+Kim+IHW, and both times was more my fault than the deck’s. Plascrete seems a bit overkill, unless everyone and their uncle is playing the six-agenda murder deck.
Also, while SMC costs a credit more, it also costs a click less than SO, which matters. The MU and influence constraints are real, though.
I’ve mentioned up thread that I’m not a fan of Imp in Kim decks. It’s covering one of your bases double, and I’d rather not take the tempo hit. Kind seems like Scrubber in Whizzard to me.
Currently I’m still experimenting with zero-resource pre-paid Kim, and it’s working surprisingly well. I’d be interested to see how the ST version works.
Imp can do double duty as pseudo-econ on high trash cost cards. If the corp isn’t running assets, he’s running lots of operations which lets Imp be your targeted destruction (as Kim only hits the first operation each turn).
On Medium: It’s great! It won me one game on Wed against a corp that couldn’t find ice fast enough. That’ll happen. The main thing is that it’s restrictive when I want to have a tight rig. The deck also plays more of HQ + Remote control than it does aggressively dig RnD. It takes RnD accesses when it can, but HQ is where I want to be.
On Legwork: I don’t agree about Wanton. It’s strong, a great card, but not even in the same league as Legwork. Legwork has to be the best, single-use multi-access card in the game. It synergizes with Eddie, giving him a better chance to hit an Op. It also helps steal agendas, while Wanton can be disrupted by Jackson. It also takes your whole turn, and that’s sort of bad. Wanton is great, but not here, and not for Eddie. (The main thing is that hitting an Op or using Imp gives him pseudo Wanton anyway, so why bother?)
I feel that it’s suicidal to play fewer than two Plascretes. There are several players in our local area that play one or none in Anarch, and I just don’t see that being viable. You run into a single Traffic Accident deck and you’re dead. (Honestly, Traffic Accident Midseasons is a real thing you need to be aware of.) I’ve not died to meat damage with this build, yet, though I probably will eventually. I’ve been playing against a lot of Midseasons Scorced nonsense out of Argus, Titan, NEH, Blue Sun. They tend to be online more than in person. People feel bad playing Scorched at casual night. (I still do it
)
On SMC: The click is nice, but it’s difficult to argue for SMC saving you a click while also arguing for Wanton’s inclusion. And I do realize that there are smart ways to play both, so I’m not evaluating this in a vacuum. While I prefer SO, I think there are numerous benefits of SMC that we should put out there, though. Grabbing D4v1d or Parasite or Imp mid-run is nice in several matchups. It’s power-shutdown protection, too, if you need it. I think if you play SMC, there should be at least 3 consoles in the deck, and possibly one mem chip (or strip) of some kind.
On Imp: Imp gives you more reach than Scrubber (Scrubber is a good addition and I think it warrants more play) in that it lets you trash two Ops if you want on a Legwork. It helps with Assets. It trashes stupid Future Perfects in RnD. Generally, it’s just a better, more flexible card.
Eddie’s main problem is that his ability is not good (honestly). Simply, he triggers maybe 2-3 times a game, if you’re lucky. You hope that those trashes are high impact, or that they open up more accesses to RnD. Generally speaking, that’s what you’re aiming for with Eddie, and it usually works. Like Whizzard, he’s dependent on the opponent’s deck composition. Unlike Whizzard, however, you’re not saving money when the ability triggers. Whizzard naturally saves you cash, while you still have to pay those trash costs on Eve, DBS, or Ash. That sucks for Eddie. His best attribute, honestly, is probably his 1 link. If you play him as a 1 link Anarch that sometimes has an upside, he’s strong. My experience with him tells me that you can only tech so hard to his ability before the deck has to be solidly workable.
I think you may be too quick to underestimate Eddie. His ability only triggers when you access cards, yes, and that’s not easy - accessing cards wins games, so the corp will naturally work to deny your ability. The flip side is that this strategy (multiaccess) is great even without his ability, so you don’t weaken your deck by building around it.
Early reactions to Leela were something similar, she didn’t trigger often and half the time it was “just win more”. Turns out her ability is powerful enough to rival Andromeda for best criminal. Kim is probably not quite in her league, but he can snowball a game on his own (by digging even deeper on deep digs), and also disrupt the corp like a champ.
How would you suggest taking advantage of his link? Drip Econ w/UWC? Spinal Modem?
I’ve played a few games with Eddie and not been satisfied–I feel like there’s potential there but I haven’t gotten it figured out yet.
I think his ability is pretty cool but I agree, it’s just not strong enough. This ID would need more influence to compete with Maxx, Val or Noise
nvm 10chars
Wanton is a hybrid disruption/multiaccess card. Although if you’re focusing more on HQ, then it’s not as strong. Legwork is cool, but is is really worth the influence?
The other thing Wanton provides is a snare protection, which is nice.
Oh, if you’re in Weyland meat damage central, go right ahead (although that is different from my online experience).
The decks you mention are going to be a ton worse against Kim by nature, although they’re part of the reason that I’ve packed WD, because there isn’t a combo deck that doesn’t hate random discard.
I was more saying ‘saves a click’ in response to the claim that it’s cheaper.
Eh, the problem I’ve found is that the turns where I hit 2x operations are relatively rare, and then Imp is only useful some of the time.
As for blowing up econ assets/high trash cost stuff - sure, but why not just an econ card? Not as efficient, for sure, but it saves you memory and is more flexible. (Agreed on TFP, though. Stupid TFP).
Hmm. My record is quite different. I’ve been hitting 3+ regularly. Most likely because I’m leaning more R&D heavy than you are, and thus hitting hedge funds, Sweeps Weeks, Celebrity Gifts, etc. The main exception would be against RP decks with 6 operations.
I mean… hell yeah, it is.
Think about it: if you’re making runs to nuke a hand with Wanton, what do you hope to hit with it? Agendas? Seems fine, but you skip a few steps and save clicks if you just Legwork. If you’re looking to hit combo pieces, Legwork does that too, since it broadens Eddie’s chances of hitting an Op. In my view, Legwork (and HQI) is the most important card for Kim. It turns him on. It gets him ready to smash Bioroids. If you’re going Wanton though, probably want some Hades Shard action. Also a good idea.
Totally agree that going heavy R&D gives you more of a chance to definitely hit those Ops. It’s a good way to go.
A good question. I haven’t tried drip economy yet, but it could be worth it. UWC and Spinal Modem work well with him. Play a solid rig and cut your access costs. Maybe even Cyberfeeder in that build? Honestly, I haven’t tried this. The builds I’ve been interested in are more aggressive and want to win before the corp gets too far gone. You lose in the late game with Kim, I feel (after all the Ops have been played) so I think he naturally gravitates toward aggression.
Supplier, dyson, cyberfeeder, UWC, spinal, then cheap runs for multi access.
I’ll call this… “Slow Kim”, “Sludge Kim”, “Drip Kim”. I’m not sure this will be better. 1 link is nice, but if it runs counter to Kim’s ability to make use of it, I’m not sure it is his best attribute. The problem is that influence for the Supplier will limit the rig options.
Maybe I should try it and see how it does. My meta is almost devoid of fast corp decks.
Being able to trash annoying ice before it hits the table really makes Kim a force. When you have an Imp out, the corp can’t feel good about giving you any accesses.
