Yeah, If you’re on plan Inject then SMC is probably not a good idea.
SV? Symmetrical Visage perhaps?
After limited testing, I really like Kim so far. He’s far better suited to my playstyle instead of Maxx where I felt I was fighting against my deck half the time. 1-of of each breaker and the standard disruption stuff give me a lot of attack vectors to bully the Corp.
@PeekaySK Inject and Clone Chip are neat but ultimately a bit overkill imo. Special Order, Earthrise and IHW are most of the time fast enough to get you the stuff you need. You’re Anarch, all your pressure tools are amazing. You don’t need to dig for answers, just work with what you have.
I’m a proponent of the Inject/CC package in lots of Anarch builds. Then again, I hate not having the cards I want when I want/need them, so I tend to play a sh* ton of card draw. I generally like to play 3 IHW 3 Inject and maybe 2 Earthrise.
I should try that. It was nice using the SMC route that I have less of an heap that gets tossed by a Chronos Proj, but it hurt trying to find econ cards with just the handful of draw.

Deck built on http://netrunnerdb.com.
Somewhat copied from Whizzard Donut setups, Part of me thinks Donut does mean keeping any operations in hand a bit longer, but since I’m doubling into this tag survival thing, probably could be something like crash space. With that I can go for Calling in Favors over Donut and have something that just solves problems with money.
I mean, if we’re going super deep on resources, wouldn’t the supplier be a good idea?
Supplier instead of Donut would make this a lot better. Look at all those resources you could host on him!
Also, if you’re running Gene Conditioning Shop already, maybe try Symmetrical Visage. You look like you’ll be clicking to draw a lot anyway. I’d also try Piper for some deck-thinning, which will also help the lack of draw.
Pipers already in there, along with Vigil.
The main problem I have with this list is the one of Atman we’re just hoping to flat draw. Then again, Piper + off-campus will burn the deck really quick.
I ran a slow-burn Kim deck at a tournament last night. It didn’t do great but I feel it has some potential. Supplier put in serious work. I’m probably going to switch it to Valencia so I can threaten with Blackmail while I set up. Once it was up and running it was a beast.
I used Logos/Human First/Queen’s Gambit to get set up, and it worked pretty well, but it was just a tiny bit too slow. The early Blackmails might give me the extra point or two I need to put it over the top.
Yea Supplier sounds like a good option. I think Valencia is a good call because of Blackmail. Kim wants to run and access those operations, Valencia can sit like Ian and that Blackmail/money threat will be on board all the time.
Hey @PeekaySK , would you mind posting your current Edward Kim list for comparison? I am currently sit in the SMC camp but am interested to see another take. SMC + Stimhack is just so powerful it would be hard to give that up
Only problem with this plan is Val’s 0 link.
Then you go armitage and liberated.
Kati/Liberated/Daily Casts/Symmetrical Visage is what I’m currently running. I kind of want Armitage but I can’t find room unless I drop the Gambles. Honestly though, I already make an absolutely ridiculous amount of money even without UC/Data Folding drip.
So I was also staring at the Reina deck and was thinking if that mentality is applicable to Kim. Like my first thought was changing Eaters for Knights, AS for Legwork, Kati since tags aren’t being floated, but wondering about the Crecentus and if the Vamp game was still viable.
I still think Whizz better than Eddie (:
Hmm… it could work, but it seems swingy.
To problem with this plan is Kim only sometimes disruptive on econ. Especially given that all the Hedge Funds and whatnot get played asap versus Kim, you only can hit them in R&D, and that tends to be less immediately impactful on the corps credit pool (instead you just dig R&D like a monster).
That being said, I’m currently looking at putting a scrubber or two in my list so I can burn at both ends (plus some straight ice destruction, but that’s not a surprise to anyone).
Renia and Whizzard are better at draining the credit pool. Kim is better at raw chaos. He upends the most stable card type - but that’s only some economic damage, and how critical that is varies from opponent to opponent.
Versus say, Personal Evolution, you tend to blow up a lot of their econ, and a bit of damage(EMP, scorch). So you could moneyscrew that deck - but it’s much harder to do the same to a NEH/RP/ETF that uses a lot of asset econ.

Cards up to Order and Chaos
Now, the disclaimers:
- Work in progress, in the middle of tweaking. In my terminology, this would be pretty much an rc2 or so
- Ed is an awesome ID. There’s basically two kinds of games: the ones where his link kills it, and the ones where his ability kills it. Sometimes, those two coincide, and those are the games you have to excuse yourself to go “freshen up”
- Couldn’t decide between Day Job and Liberated Account on my last 2 econ slots, so I packed 1 of each. Both are horrible in here, each for different reasons. I don’t have issues with having to hold onto one for a while, I just don’t want to draw a second copy in those situations, so I’m thinking 1/1 might be the way to go.
- The big weakness is Imp-lessness, which makes econ a bit stretched sometimes (especially vs. Asset-based decks). Scrubber is a consideration, especially since one-of would be fine with this much card draw
- Could do with a second D4V1D, no room
- Earthrise #3 was there, but it was too much draw for the money. Cut the third one to get another econ card
- If you wanted to ditch the Injects, I’d go with -3 Inject +1 Earthrise +2 econ cards (or possibly two Cyberfeeders?). I’m really liking Injects for the burst draw, even with Atman getting binned occasionally (it’s best in the heap with a Clone Chip ready, anyway), but it’s a personal preference (based mostly on my brain going “Ed looks like a stripper that does steroids on a regular basis, why would I not play a card called Inject”)
- No Stimhack. NO STIMHACK?! Yes I know it might be incredible for you american people, but I see various scorching, double-scorching and net-damage tax efforts regularly, and the -1 handsize is a dealbreaker in those situations. I’d have to play other cards because of this (like, a Plascrete), so I prefer to pack more econ instead
- The singleton Knight kicks ass. Don’t leave home without it
- Zero Deja Vus was too few, two was too many. One is definitely right with a full Clone Chip suite
Questions? Comments? Insults? Fire away!
Has anyone tried the seedier long term Hotel package in Ed yet (Wyldside + Adjusted Chronotype)?
@PeekaySK: How much better is HQI than Nerve Agent? I guess you have memory issues, but NA lets you upgrade one of your liberated accounts to the good money card.
Scientific answer is “approximately 125.876% better on average”.
I used to run NA, but often ended up not installing it, installing over it, or just straight up ditching it, only to miss it later. HQI is a permanent threat that needs to be handled old-school, by taking away your ability to access HQ. NA you can’t drop before you have Grimoire, because otherwise all your rig pieces won’t be able to come out before your console drops, which sucks. And now, with Cyberdex Virus Suite making more of an appearance, NA is actually even less reliable. So for those reasons, HQI all the way.
(also, Inject
)
The good money card was in previous iterations, it turned out not to be all that good for some reason. Changing the Lucky Find into HQI also lets me pack another econ card, in the Nerve Agent slot.
(also, the first version of the post had a mistake in it - it was two liberateds zero day jobs - fixed it)
