The econ package here looks fine to me - until you have to trash multiple Eve/Adonis/DBS in a game, or PAD/Marked/DBS. That’s a problem for many decks, though. I would recommend going to 3 Visage, although your 2 Inject help to find your money faster. You could also try going to +1 Chip -2 Special +1 Inject, and maybe add the third LF for something else.
Visage is too durdley in practice without more draw to support it- I’ve been trying it along with earthrise x2 (the accepted best draw combo for the two cards individually), and Earthrise is enough of a hit to your credits that you really only want to play it in those games where you see a lot of money early and not a lot of tutors/programs, or else mid game where you are partially set up with strong econ.
3 IHW, 2 Earthrise, 2 Inject, hasn’t been too bad for me so far. The issue with visage is what you cut for it. Visage rewards paced draw, but Inject and IHW are both one credit to smash into the top of your deck and find an answer- this is what Kim needs. You’re looking to get ahead and keep ahead, which is why the big swingy anarch econ works well for aggression. Being anarch you have the most redundancy, and I feel most of the time that I would rather pay a credit to dig NOW than to spend 2 and a card draw to play a card that will help me later, paying for itself after the third turn.
Kim can’t go full-on aggressive the way Reina can, there is some setting up involved. Breakers, suckers, Medium- all while trying to run every turn, afford controlling asset econ, and setting up long term econ yourself. This is why Stimhack is so valuable with him; 9 credits has its place (Stimhack wins games) but with 2 SMC and 2 Clone Chip every Stimhack turns into whatever piece you’re missing, and that is great value indeed. If you don’t constantly apply pressure, operations start to make their way into HQ and get played, and THEN your high-investment resource econ starts to set you back.
When I am drawing with Kim, it is usually multiple draws because I am looking for the next piece to keep tempo, instead of click 1 drawing to keep a steady influx of cards coming- Kim can seem swingy but as someone who has working at him competitively for months now (some in here not even trying him yet?) you learn to find the tempo to keep your economy going through these big swings.
I’m going to try with 2 Career Fairs with Cast/Kati/Earthrise/Liberated.
Scrubber. Such awesome card. I’m looking for space for a second one.
Good call. Might be the way to go in a slower meta.
that’s what some of us have been testing in the Reina thread. been working out decently so far!
I keep seeing Reina’s stuff work and staring at how to fit Kim in that, then realize I got a different boat to float.
well sure… IHW should be an auto include in Anarch decks. thing about Visage is it is never ‘durdley’, because you’re getting a credit while drawing which are 2 things every deck needs to be doing
Pretty much. Every time I try to set up more long game stuff, it feels odd. I’ve avoided Kati so much because of this. Finally threw her back in, but still, feels off.
That logic could be applied to a lot of cards; Pre-Paid makes your burst econ more effective, and pays for a whole host of 1-cost anarch events like IHW, Inject, Knifed… as I already started above, lots of cards are good, but working with deck slots are they the best choice of card space? I’m speaking from experiences of my own, and you’re speaking from a theorycrafting perspective, so we’re seeing different sides of the coin.
I’m not speaking theorycrafting; I’ve played lots of Visage already in Whizzard, and many Kim builds in here are similar to Whizzard builds, just straight forward decks looking to leverage their ID’s ability
Fair points, though many shaper decks are also similar. The difference in a handful of cards is all that separates CT Stimshop from Toolbox Hate, or Same Old Andy from Gabe. Small changes and nuances add up quite a bit- you are more likely to run a remote as Whizzard than I am as Kim, since the odds of an Operation being installed in that remote is pretty slim
yeah I think Kim has to run Scrubber. I should try a Kim/Piper list
Or just run imp! I love in faction power cards! I’m always surprised when I forget to include Imp in anarch… it feels foolish not to run it
definitely
The rule is 2 imps, and you have to explain why not 3, and the only acceptable answer is “Hacktivist Meeting”
I seem to have issues doing early runs. Liberated and Kati are hard drops to build from. If I’m going smc stim hack, I don’t have casts. I feel like I want magnum to be able to pressure each turn. Maybe try Trimaf
Do a mindgame on yourself - pretend your early accesses are about hunting either for Parasite targets or Operations to hammertime on. As long as you don’t have programs, feel completely justified running into things face first ![]()
Cortex lock.
Here’s the first Eddie build I threw together. Didn’t want to just copy my Whizz list so I tried something … unusual.

Played 4 games, went 2-2; 1 loss I was in control then hit an unexpected Psychic Field versus Biotech. Obviously games where you see Paige early go much smoother. I’m debating swapping Grimoire for Astrolabe actually, the 3 install is a bit too much, and without SMC → Parasite the effect isn’t as strong. Gonna continue testing this, though; it’s fun. It’s so hard for me to not play Whizzard now; I hate relying on actual cards to trash Assets (:
Certainly wouldn’t consider this a competitive build, but I wanted to play Eddie and Paige together.
