Flashpoint Cycle!

Use Tech Startup (or EBC) to tutor the Killer. Startup’s possibly better here as you can Kill the Critic from RnD in 1 turn.
I mean, you’re probably already tutoring your 1-of Lizzy, right?

Or, if it’s a Film Critic that’s being imported into a non-shaper deck, there’s always Enforcing Loyalty. It was only 1 Inf, too, wasn’t it?

I would be very surprised if there wasn’t more ways to kill people in a cycle all about a corp war throwing down.

You’re implying BoN is basically BWBI…

FFG said ‘new version of each’ Core ID which is what the Genesis Cycle did.

BABW is the Core
BoN is the Flashpoint new version replacing the Genesis new version.

And Yeah BoN is way better than BWBI

They may well not, I’d certainly be happy if they re-worked some more of the themes from Genesis IDs this cycle. I’d love to see a good HB Bioroid ID or an NBN deck that wants + handsize for some reason.

40 card Weyland means we can run a 4 agenda deck. It could be interesting though I don’t know how you’re going to score anything.
Perhaps the threat of Punitives but it has problems as said…

I would probably go with something like this:

Tropico

Weyland Consortium: Builder of Nations

Agenda (7)
1x Eden Fragment
3x Project Atlas
3x The Cleaners

Asset (3)
3x Jackson Howard •••

Upgrade (4)
3x Hokusai Grid ••••• •
1x Self-destruct

Operation (16)
3x Commercialization
1x Consulting Visit
3x Hedge Fund
2x Housekeeping
2x Punitive Counterstrike
2x Restructure
1x Shipment from Kaguya
1x Subliminal Messaging
1x Trick of Light •••

Barrier (5)
1x Fire Wall
3x Ice Wall
1x Meru Mati

Code Gate (5)
1x Builder
1x Checkpoint
1x Wendigo
2x Mausolus

Sentry (4)
1x Nebula
3x Shadow

12 influence spent (max 12)
18 agenda points (between 18 and 19)
44 cards (min 40)
Cards up to Blood Money

Deck built on https://netrunnerdb.com.

Film Critic is the reason my old HB Punitive deck had its last hurrah at regionals last year. I will forever mourn that deck, for I loved it so.

Then I’ve Had Worse came along to piss on its grave :frowning:

Regarding Builder of Nations: this will of course encourage more advanceable ICE, but will it actually be used meaningfully?

You only need one counter to trigger the ability and it doesn’t make stacking more counters on than the first any more worthwhile than it was before unless I’m missing something. Perhaps you might do it because you’ve already got it on the table I guess. So I suspect that mostly what we’ll see is some cheap advanceable ICE to trigger the effect, 3 of Ice Wall seeming like the obvious starting point as mentioned by @Cynchwyrm, maybe some others and yeah that’s a little more interesting than none of it at all, but it’s … kind of token really. Guess we’'ll have to see what the other parenthetical ICE (Mausoleum) is like. I hope I’m wrong though.

Fire Wall is also just a big Ice wall.

I see what you did there.

If 3adv Mausolus triggers then it’s 3+1 meat, a tag, etr, and money to follow with 1xScorched Earth :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t forget the pics! You gotta get a pic of this happening, or else it didn’t happen!

Maybe if we see a mushin for ICE. (Shouldn’t require a new server)

Lateral Growth should have been Weyland with an optional advance clause. Either 1 counter or 2 counters with a reduced credit return, perhaps. Phrasing would bypass the silly limits of ICE like Tyrant and Woodcutter.

That would be a neat operation.

I fully expect the living the dream thread to be super live once this cycle comes out. I’m getting excited for maybe playing builder again.

Woha, woha, stop making sense right there. Giving Weyland a transaction? What’s next, giving them ICE that doesn’t end the run?

Vertical growth
Cost: X
inf:2

Install and rez a piece of ice, paying all cost. Place X advancement counters on it.

This wouldn’t work with space ice, but paying 5 for rezzing an orion would be broken.

15 of 32 pieces of Weyland ice that has end the run on it. So most of their ICE doesn’t actually end the run.
