It's not that hard, and she's pretty hardcore - Leela Patel

fair, but emp only if you run. anyway, everyone knows it is generally best to end most turns with max hand size against pe… i don’t know why everyone is fighting so hard against the fact that leela is better protected against ronin than ANY OTHER CRIMINAL

Tried false_idol’s The Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique deck. It’s great, but I also feel like it I’d rather have Andy or Gabe on it because how much it incentivizes running often which means aside from FA decks, Leela’s ability isn’t used as often.

Maybe it gives the corp a lot more pressure with Leela though, I don’t know.

Running ideally ends in scoring agendas, which triggers Leela’s ability. It gives a benefit to the single thing that, when it boils down to it, you want be doing as a Runner: stealing agendas.

That’s not saying anything meaningful. Why even bother using different runner identities then?

An aggressive runner will leave less cards on the board unrezzed, unless you’re playing against something like PE, it’s as simple as that.

that’s fair

Not necessarily - leaving a particular server intentionally alone doesn’t equate to non-aggression. And let’s not forget, you can still derez stuff if you’re so inclined

I posted in the Tournament Winning thread, but as it’s relevant here…I won a 20-person GNK using Leela and RP.

Leela went 4-1. The loss was timed loss to Nisei Scorch 6-5 that I am pretty sure I win with 5 more minutes. Basically I think she’s incredibly good and her ability saved me in an instance where I think Andy might have faltered (against an IT department grail deck…I was able to bounce R&D ice and hit that server repeatedly). Andy in various forms is probably better, but I think Leela is right up there with Gabe as a very close second in the right instance.

@Cerberus 's idea of Security Testing is really good. Need to find what to cut to back Dirty Laundry. RDI is great, but I think -1 LF and +1 RDI might be best to ensure you have a good shot. Usually I run the centrals early on to force them low, then start getting breakers. They’ll double-ice centrals eventually, in which case her ability leaves them wide open since you can bounce the unknown ice. If they triple or quadruple then that just means a single Legwork will get you points since they aren’t scoring.

Love the build. Did you like Sneakdoor? Here’s my current build.

Here’s my list. I still prefer to run a more reactive Leela and I think Magnum Opus is great for that style of play. Kati Jones is just too restrictive to strike when you want to. However playing 3x Opus also leaves a less than desired suite of icebreakers if I had to note the main weakness.

I’ve liked it based on OCTGN, the RP matchup is still really hard, and Caprice on HQ is a pain. That being said, a 1x Sneakdoor is pretty inconsistent. I guess 2x would be better if I could find room.

I’ve dropped a Lucky Find and gone to 3 R&DI currently just to ensure that I see one otherwise the NEH match up is really hard.
I’m not 100% on the Earthrise Hotel currently, if there is a lot if NEH I think John M is good.

Congrats @grogboxer

ive been liking maker’s eye a lot with leela. i basically just try to set up a couple of explosive turns where i combo maker’s eye into legwork or vice versa. i like this deck a lot because you dont have to run everything to put the fear in the corp plus with logos you can run techy 1-ofs like paper tripping, blackmail, leverage and hades shard to attack the corp in weird ways they aren’t used to playing against…

slaghund (small sample size) says leela’s win rate is near andy territory and i think i agree at least until corps get more experience against her.

For the record, I think discounting Leela’s win rates as corp unfamiliarity is stupid. After having played her over 50 times, sitting down across her fills me with dread much more than Andromeda - that bouncy thing is just so much of a rain on your parade, no matter which version you face.

in my experience corp decks who have a lot of ice to put on centrals do ok. the big turns i get usually come from the corp not being able to double ice HQ or RnD quickly. The maker’s eye or leg work kicks one piece of ice back allowing a free run which in turn leads to a snowball of multiaccess run events, siphons and shutdowns.

as the corp you have to play slowly and ice up. when i play against her i try to get everything double iced and gain as much money as possible so even if she peels off one agenda any follow up is met with some sort of resistance.

i do think she is one of the top 3 ids in the game right now and may have taken gabe’s place as my favorite criminal runner. the boxer theme is so strong too. when a leela deck is humming its really does feel like a jab->cross->uppercut boxing combo. at least the way i play her. i see quite a few run everything builds in the thread which im sure works fine too but i prefer to save up and unload my hand on the corp in a few select turns.

In what situations do you find yourself using Leverage? In my experience, Corps are only going for meat damage if it is a flatline. In those cases, they will gladly take the Bad Publicity. Is it just for PE?

leverage: how to run a ‘taxing’ RP remote of komainu - tsurugi and pup…for 2 credits. Leverage: Remove the tax 2015.

This is pretty much the answer. I’m not saying leverage is an amazing card that should be a 3x in every deck, but you don’t play it to dodge a killshot, you play it to run through damaging ICE (or similar instances, like maybe you want to use your mulit-access against Jinktei, etc.).

Muy current build is really similar to yours, but instead of Kati I play 2 sneakdoor, and I’m also playing with switchblade and silencer (no garrote). It really helps against taxing sentries, and sneakdoor has been an all star in the deck. I still feel the economy is really tight, but cutting anything is really hard.

its mainly for RP. im just testing it. i’ve tried in decks before this is the only one i can run a single copy and still realistically find it.

I’ve written an article on Leela and what my thoughts are after around 50 games, as well as my current deck.
Be interested to see what folk think.
