Link's Adventure - The Sunny Lebeau Thread

Could you give a writeup on your opinion of no multiaccess? Is 2x Turning Wheel the only viable alternative for 1x Faust?

I think I get it - The Source is more important than it lets on for this deck. You keep her alive at all costs to keep it permanently on, and when you finally draw your singleton Globalsec Clearance, you sneak in R&D looks to close the game after the Source helped you snipe 4-5 points from HQ or remotes.

You basically got it, except

Once the ball is rolling against Glacier, it can be OK to let her die.

Is hostage or Dr lovegood worth a slot? Hostage is probably not worth it since you have a pretty acceptable draw engine, but lovegood would let you score and keep up either NACH or The Source.

Fall Guy and Film Critic do basically the same thing with much more general utility, IMO.

Lovegood is generally better than Film Critic ā€¦ except when it isnā€™t (TFP, QPM, Exploda, Fetal AI, sometimes NAPD, PE games in general, Haarp games in general, possibly Punitive / Midseason).

But Film Critic for Lovegood is a reasonable cut if itā€™s all Foodcoats, all day erryday.

Against NBN I would go for 3rd Fall Guy first, since Lovegood doesnā€™t protect The Source from trashing on corp scores or from tag 'n trash.

Ok, I finally got around to building this thing.

Build money, use vamp/stimhack for remote plays. Career Fair and Peddler help mitigate the tempo hit of the shitty drip cards. R&D lock with RDIs. Security nexus is too fancy for me and makes the deck even slower. Iā€™d rather just play more money.

The deckā€™s been pretty good so far. You have pretty much no hope vs. Fastro, but thereā€™s not much this ID can do about that and your game vs glacier can be quite good.

Thanks for the decklist. I do wonder though if maybe throwing out Nexus and Jak is kind of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Also Globalsec Security Access has worked wonders for me in my games.

I imagine that you will be throwing turning wheel in once that drops in about five months?

Possibly. You actually make very few runs, so RDI could be better.

With SMC in there, maybe think about slotting the clot for FA?

In an unrelated note, if I wanted to build a Sunny deck and already have the following:
1x Core
All deluxes
What Lies Ahead
Trace Amount
Future Perfect
Opening Moves
The Source
The Valley
Breaker Bay
Chrome City
+1 Rabbit Hole
and +3 UWC

What would be my priority purchases for the next 2-4 packs?

Also consider that Iā€™d like to try a Titan deck with those same purchases if possible.

Itā€™s not the FA that beats you as much as the raw speed of the deck. If Clot was 0 influence I would play 1, but at 2 inf itā€™s not worth it at all.

The above list is actually not my most recent. -1 Armitage -1 Sherman + 2 Same Old Thing is very strong. The Same Olds let you dig for Vamp with Peddler. This speeds you up A LOT.

Yeah, I hear that. Thatā€™s why I didnā€™t propose any cuts for Clot. I just couldnā€™t see what to cut for it and hoped you might have a better idea :).

Big thanks to @higgs_bozo for the Off Campus Sunny list, took it card for card except -1 Faust +1 Nerve Agent and went undefeated in a SC, taking 1st.

And of course for @bblumā€™s new and improved Blue Sun, I dodged the double datasucker dream start from the Whizzards and managed to dance out enough wins at the right time.

The highlight of the day was certainly Sunny. The big money, big link, and The Source were key players all day. In a field of NBN, Assassin, and Ash, I had the fortune of drawing good enough to squeeze out victories in two games and solidly take three. New Angeles City Hall was a big threat in the final round. Thanks higgs!

I pretty much consider Nerve Agent a must include in Sunny. I am thinking about trying out @higgs_bozoā€™s list, what would you cut for it? Faust seems weird because you want one as fast as possible and you are pretty much screwed if you donā€™t find one.

I found 3 faust to be way too many. You can faceplant HB and NBN with relative impunity early game before either player has a huge money lead, Faust also wonā€™t help against the scary RP ICE since they are already teched for it. idk, between the 2x Sherman (Wraparound/barrier rush was a common play attempted like just higgs said) and 2x Faust, you have a relatively easy time finding one with the first Earthrise or a couple OCAs. Plus a crazy draw with tons of econ can make Security Nexus a breaker too really quickly.

I would say cutting a Faust would be heresy a month ago, but thereā€™s so much Faust hate out there now that going down to 2 felt perfectly fine. The Source buys you so much time.

The influence is so tight there is literally nothing to remove. The Career Fairs would be my best second cut but itā€™s econ, and we all know how strong that card is, Sunny has 8 targets in that deck.

Damn, thatā€™ll mark the first Sunny Lebeau Store Champ win inā€¦ well, ever. Props.

I took this deck to 3rd in a small GNK (13 people?) with -1 Peddler and +1 Employee Strike. Folded pretty badly to NEHFA (0-2), but it was fun and I usually donā€™t do that bad against FA. I was 0-4 against the NEHFA guy anyway, and he took first, soā€¦

Only problem I have with so much peddler is that I often want to install almost everything. Sometimes the decision is really rough.

Wooooo! Sunny!

Gratz @whatisthistreachery!

My latest iteration of the deck went -2 Scrubber, +1 Career Fair, +1 Peddler per @Chill84ā€™s suggestion. You donā€™t really have time to fuck around trashing assets against Fastro, HB and Blue Sun protect their assets too heavily, and Sunny feels strong enough in the RP matchup (where Scrubber is actually really fucking good) without it. Against Team Turtles (as opposed to Fastro) it can be one of the best cards in the deck, though, so be advised on that point.

Iā€™m skeptical of HQ multi-access in this deck. My experience is that I always win when I manage to set up the remote control / FA denial package of Faust / Nexus / Source / Critic, but the corp can race to 7 while Iā€™m getting that going. I think maybe HQ multi-access just speeds up the process of winning once the remote is locked, but doesnā€™t help solve the problem of losing before then?

It might be better than Iā€™m giving it credit for, though. If you see it early and the corp is afraid to power-draw for agendas, thatā€™s good. If you see it in mid-game where you have the remote under control, but the corp might be able to break your lock, given time, thatā€™s also good. HQI might be better than Nerve Agent, because a) CVS and b) Nerve Agent doesnā€™t let you access extra cards on a Jak run.

I am cautiously intrigued. Cutting a dupe for 2 influence and a slot will always get my attention.

Iā€™ve found scrubbers really help with multiple SanSans on the table, but before they find their agendas. They are just so painful to trash and any NEH with 8 credits is just a BN away from killing The Source (assuming you even got it on the table fast enough). And once itā€™s rezzed, it needs dead NAO!

I used to run Legwork for the HQMA, but thereā€™s just not enough influence with the OCA package. I might just drop the suckers as I havenā€™t been using them as much as I thought I would. That would give me one legwork and a slotā€¦

Thanks!! Iā€™ve played the deck off and on since you published it, mostly on Jinteki, and found the better the opponent/deck was, the more often I won. The opponents were Spark Ash, RP standard, NEH Mumba Sponsorship, and in the cut; Spark Ash, Foodcoats, and Haarp Psycho. I was hoping to run into bootcamp, as Sunny absolutely destroys it, but then again I had the fortune of my final game against a Haarp Psychoā€¦ as 2x Film Critic City Hall Sunny.

In an attempt to give a brief report:

Iā€™d be so hardpressed the cut the Scrubbers currently, as you can tell from the matchup they got per turn use. The general feel of the day was confusion in the swiss (how do I play against Sunny in a tournament where things are on the line?) and I finally saw some genuine attempted rush in the cut.

The thing about Foodcoats is that they often single-ice their remote campaigns, and an early Scrubber + Jak can mean ā€˜cheapā€™ campaign trashes through Turings even with a click to spare. Snagging their first 2-3 campaigns can put them so behind and Foodcoats is the only deck that can truly trace you out of Nexus when it matters the most with their massive cash pools unchecked. And Nexus is super important vs. Foodcoats, and that means keeping them poor(ish).

The Nerve Agent (HQI is much better I just wanted to use MU and it was on the fly) was a time-based solution. I went to time once (Corp timed loss but partially due to Sunny) but Nerve Agent helped me close the game when I had already won. I didnā€™t want people playing chicken with me tossing every which asset into the locked remote while they frantically thought of a way out. HQ often ends up the cheapest server vs. Sunny, and Iā€™d take my pile of money and make 1-2 regular runs a turn in the end.

And on the two Faust, - I lost it three different games to Swordsman. Every ICE I ran into was Faust-minded. I skated by a little bit due to inexperience of the playing field vs. the deck. Iā€™m absolutely sure that in practiced and educated field 3x Faust is necessary for consistency, but I had the perfect storm of ā€œI didnā€™t prepare for Sunnyā€ and tournament stress on my side.

Iā€™m excited for how this deck evolves in Mumbad and I canā€™t wait to see if she can make more events. Thanks again for the deck and cheers to Sunny!!

Why isnā€™t Multithreader included in any of these decks? There should be plenty of free memory because of the clouds.

@MightyToenail: MT has been discussed to death already in this thread and others
