Well, this is theory building but I think Globalsec Sec Clearance can be used to see the topdeck card while HQ-I be used to HQ lock the corp.
So if you can’t run on R&D, you could still try to run in HQ, with a legwork-like ability that would force the corp to put agendas in archives OR in remotes. It will be quite dificult for the corp to protect all centrals + a remote effectivly.
And if you don’t want to click GSC, then you can still try a lucky HQI access (gaining credits with the trace in the process).
This is all theory crafted anyway, so maybe it’s another of my Johny decks like most of them
Since Sunny has to play multiples of so many unique resources and cards to see them, and since her thing is “never lose a trace,” perhaps Paige Piper can really slim her down and make her draws far more likely.
Nothing wrong with theory crafting, we are all doing it here. I think I should use your deck today before making any changes to it, since I’m new to all this.
Last thoughts I have related to it. I love how Disrupter is a looming -5 to the Corp, as well as midseasons and snatch protection. Thing I am worried about though is getting her console online, as it is super expensive. A lot of cards don’t hit their stride until you have it down.
Peddler would be a chill swap for quality time but they both male me fearful without recursion. I was thinking Express Delivery is a less risky Peddler, though he is more cost and an extra click.
Street peddler is far better than express delivery, I’ve never once contemplated losing something on it, cause the instant install and discount are so good in general. 1 bad publicity makes it go even further, in case that ever happens.
Darn. I finished my Paige/Sunny build and was going to playtest, but then I realized I’m not as free of tags as I thought. Y’all who are more experienced, how often are we going to get Sansan + Breaking News’d to lose our most clutch resource, for instance? And all the new tag stuff that is coming in the big box…
I was seeing it as my idea with Sunny either worked with 3 Paige or 3 Apartments and 3 Fall Guys. Qian PT we’d need two in play and while both City Hall and Source synergize incredibly well with Film Critic, that may not exactly be feasible…
Alright so after staring at the cards for a bit my philosophy was that I wanted to make use of her two feature cards that really work together: Jak Sinclair and Security Nexus. My initial feeling was that I wanted to explore how often I can make the free run a meaningful one. Thus the para-sucker route. The suckers just seem right for those breakers of hers and being able to get sucker tokens from nexus seems decent.
I felt that if I get to make free runs that having scrubbers (one influence) might be a good include for naked/weakly protected assets.
between quality time and street peddler (more cheap influence stuff) I decided to opt for street for the bonus to econ over the hit.
supplier was just hard not to include as there’s so much stuff that can go on it. Even a mid-game install probably saves you quite a bit. I’m concerned about overloading him but I’ve never used the card so i need to see it in action. If I cut the card one immediately becomes a second deja I reckon.
The same old thing has to be the weakest card. It’s really only good for deja and QT. It’s possible it should be another chip but again i have to play before i can see it.
one deja sucks. the double duty between parasites and sec-chips seems like it would be pretty darn good. I want at least one more.
This is from absolutely no Sunny experience, but I feel that if one is going to continually profit from Security Nexus, then they either need a tremendous link to tax the Corp (6+) or a huge econ to tax them regardless. Trace5 is no easy task unless you are keeping the Corp poor by various methods. Otherwise, I think Nexus is best to use more infrequently, like on your glory runs where it can save you running on one especially nasty ice (specifically a big one they just had to rez and thus may be hurting credwise at the time). Running Interference or Social Engineering? Nah…
I have the very silly idea that her breakers might get some action in a shaper deck (Rabbit Holes and/or Toolbox required). Immediately thought of the Professor, but even using them and Multithreader(s), Kate is still probably better.
I’ve used Security Nexus in two games and it has felt pretty good. I’m trying 2 x Compromised Employee. Forcing the corp to pay money or you get through Eli for 2 credits or their Tollbooth or whatever is really nice. I run Modded to ease the install cost.
Compromised Employee is definitely a more long-term, influence-friendlier way to take advantage of it than Social Engineering. I don’t think it pressures in the same way, but it pays off over time and is more innocuous.
Security Nexus is amazing. It’s a bit expensive to install, but it’s just so good once it’s down. Sunny has two base link and Nexus adds a third, so you’re usually only paying two for the trace 5 bypass (unless the corp is Making News or wants to Vamp itself). It’s basically a repeatable Inside Job, except much better because it works on any ice instead of just the outermost. And it gets better with link. I prefer Dysons since they provide memory as well, and are cheap to install with Supplier. If you want to get janky, Power Taps would be interesting since they’ll pay for tag removal if you decide not to pay the trace. And for the really janky people out there, you could play normal link + Power Taps to make bypassing actually profitable.
Even if you ignore the economical side, Nexus is great because it allows you to repeatedly face check ice with extremely little risk. Other than some funky upgrades like Batty and ChiLo, the worst that could happen is tag + ETR. It might just be the corps I’ve played against (only 3 games with Sunny so far), but the amount of pressure you can put on the corp with just a Nexus seems pretty incredible.
So I got beaten by Power Tap/Security Nexus last night. My deck was too slow to find agendas while my opponent was setting it all up, using The Supplier to great effect.
There’s nothing that gives you a sense that the game has gone out of your control like watching your opponent get paid to Inside Job you every turn. Power Tap also conveniently makes all your trace ice a liability.
I was Spark and managed to get 5 points with and Astro token, so I gave it a run for its money. But still. Power Tap is here.
Removed quality times x 2 and earthrise x2, would test Jak - Masamori, removed 2 disrupter that are not agressive enough I think, put Trope and Peddlers.
“Virtual size” is 42 cards (50 - 2x Rabbits installed with the third, - 3x2 cards that don’t get installed by eventless Peddler) so Masamori is maybe a stupid inclusion there.
Disrupted Rabbit - mk2 Let’s trigger traces, would we ?

I run powertap Sunny right now and I am not a huge fan of disruptor. If you already sitting on 6 or 7 link and are getting paid 2-3 more creds for using the nexus, most of the time the corp won’t bother. And if they do, they probably just spent more than 2 creds, so go clear that tag!
With the ability to bypass single Ice does Nexus make security testing palatable? Being able to run clickless with Jak Sinclair and bypass with nexus, gaining up to 3 off of power taps, possibly draining the corp if they pay, then getting successful run stuff (money, datasuckers) on top sounds pretty excellent. Much setup though.
