Link's Adventure - The Sunny Lebeau Thread

I’m playing all 3 rabbit hole atm, mostly to find them quicker but w/e.

I think you’re probably right that rabbit hole is wrong if there’s not other traces >3, but Turnpike, Gutenberg & Archangel are sad once you’ve bred your rabbits.

And Resistor!

In that metagame, yeah, Rabbit Hole’s a goddamn powerhouse.

Plus Security Chip suddenly becomes a +5 to all cloud breakers.

Do not underestimate the power of getting to that 5 link for nexus. When the corp has to actively pay to even have a change of winning the trace the frequency with which they bother trying drops like crazy.

Also as @camelCase said - with security chip it is great. Sec chip+rabbits+nexus+the cloud breakers makes them all strength 7 for the run. vs. glacier that is probably better than you would get from a stimhack (and without the brain damage). Chuck in a stimhack as well and (barring caprice or similar shenanigans) you are getting in. And I’ve seen corps just not bother ressing ash.

So, the biggest question I’m now wrestling with is plascrete or not. 6 link and stacks of cash mean that sea source just gets laughed at most of the time (ditto punitive and midseasons). What has killed me (twice, both out of sync) is score a couple of 2-1s out of hand, then 24-7 into double scorch/traffic.

The latter is the most concerning now since I’ve kinda settled on congress’ solution to early game speed (simhack+SMC), so dropping to 3 hand size is quite plausible, which can be a 0cr kill (hardly ideal). Yes, going slower is an option, but well, astrotrains are a thing.

1x plascrete would be the default answer (assuming you can find it), but that remains kinda narrow. Utopia shard would be less certain, but perhaps more generally useful. Public sympathy?

Is beach party going to be worth it? Although you are already losing a click to GSC. I suppose you could try going pancakes+gene shoppe* or rachel, but that seems a lot of moving parts, and you may as well splash IHW instead to boost your draw. Plus you’ll probably have to drop sec testing, which reduces the value of jak+john; although I’ve been iffy about john’s downside for a while now - it makes the facechecking power of nexus worse.

Or maybe I just figure that all-seeing sync is probably going to kill me.

[edit:] fixing 24/7 - all seeing eye issue

The biggest scorch threat now is 24/7 BN. One plas in 50 cards may as well be zero in that matchup.

Yea that’s a harder combo to disrupt. If you don’t get the Breaking News or any other agenda, it’s then drug dealer to get you out of double scorch range. And that doesn’t protect against resource trashing.

Do you play Film Critic + New Angeles City Hall to handle the 24/7 Breaking News? With high link, careful play, and enough economy, I could see being able to avoid all/most tags - except for the non-trace based ones - which NACH solves.

I’m not sure there’s an effective countermeasure available to Sunny. Street Peddler x3 is probably mandatory just by virtue of playing Sunny, and NACH is solid with Peddler, but Film Critic on top of that is probably too much do nothing stuff against HB.

idk

Gah. Yeah, I meant 24/7, not all seeing I. Too tired, clearly.

I’ve been toying with a few Sunny builds, and the problem is just that while once you get the engine going, she’s a monster, but they’ve got five points already and a SanSan/Astro token/Caprice/whatever, and can just randomly win before you can truly lock the game down.

This has always sort of been the issue with drip-style decks. Corps are quick!

Given that Sunny has her rig in faction, surely you could be looking at cards like Inside Job (backed up by Same Old Thing) to make it difficult for corps to rush out agendas early? That seems like an absolute monster when you add her console into the equation (which is probably the first part of her rig that anyone should be installing).

Alternatively, you could import Always Be Running.

Aye. As far as I can tell, you have (broadly) three options:

  1. Add early aggro
  2. Slow the corp
  3. Speed up getting the rig out

Early aggro is perhaps the easiest - as @Taurean says, inside job looks solid (not tried it). I’ve played with overmind, which seems OK and if you keep a counter on it provides a late game trap blocker, but slightly anti-synergies with datasuckers / multithreaders; also stimhack/smcs (more on that in three). I’m not sure about always be running - the upside costs you half your turn (which slows you getting your rig out) and feels like a poor mans’ version of nexus’ bounce power (which you already have in faction) and will force you to do things late game unless you are running aesops or similar.

Slowing the corp has limited options. three of the source is the safest route (at 6inf). Sunny is unlikely to have the recursion for clot. Given the quantity of decent corp currents, traffic jam could even be an option if you don’t have the inf spare for (say) employee strike.

Getting the rig down quicker is (I think) the hardest to do, at least without compromising your end game. Special orders or lots of copies of your breakers and big burst econ to pay for getting them down (sure gambles, dirty laundries, lucky finds, etc) - I don’t think you will be running enough events to make the full ppvp shell viable. Stimshop might work.

I’m currently leaning towards SMC+stimhack. It’s expensive (a full set is 12inf!) and makes you more even more vulnerable to scorch, but with just an smc and 2cr in hand you know you will have enough to get past any one piece of 4str or less non-trap ice, more if you’ve picked up a few datasucker tokens; making it both aggro and rig building in one. What I haven’t yet worked out is whether this is enough econ to drop sec testing.

Just play 3 Faust.

It’s definitely the most busted anti-rush tech you can get for 2 influence a pop, and you need a monster draw engine to power through that 50 card deck anyways.

This was my exact thought straight away. So I went 3xmodded 3xcareer and went from there and just went without a console.

Pure aim is get set up ASAP with draw/drip and then have all remotes/RD/HQ on lockdown

Also went with a 3 x infiltration to identify baiting runs

I feel like this is basically unconditionally worse than 3x Lucky Find.

Not sure about that. Modded is one click, not two–which is important for Sunny, who needs all the clicks she can get. Sunny should ideally be pretty good at making money–I think using Lucky Find for money is handicapping her potentially three extremely valuable clicks.

Modded, click for credit, click for credit installs a thing and gives you 5 credits.

Lucky Find, install a thing installs a thing and gives you 6 credits. If your Modded deck clicks for credits twice in a game, then Lucky Find is better. If you’re relying on SMC, then Lucky Find is way, way better.

I cut Lucky Find, though. I don’t think Sunny needs to be including 2-influence economy cards or draw cards in her deck. I just stick with the best 1-influence options.

Modded also opens up your hand two slots to draw more cards, which is good for Sunny if she’s holding her breakers but needs to draw for econ, but doesn’t really want to pitch them.

I had been playing it but am now using Modded influence for Paige Piper and Hostage instead… also Magnum Opus. We’ll see how it goes :stuck_out_tongue:

I also play 3 Faust and only 1 each of the Sunny breakers, so I never have trouble clearing my hand if I want to.
