This was clarified on Reddit here. It was simply a bug.
Isnât it time for another MWL update?
(aka Breaking News 3/1 or limit 1 per deck)
And temujin 5 influence errata
yes, just errata the influence, no MWL please
My ideal MWL changes:
Breaking News (1 per deck)
- Commercial Bankers Group
- Sensei Actorâs Union
- Temujin Contracts
Iâd rather ban a card outright than restrict it to 1 per deck but I can understand FFG being unwilling to do this.
Edit: Iâd also support PPVP, Desperado and Architect coming off the MWL list and Power Shutdown being errataed to prevent PW/AD combos. I think that Desperado is unlikely to be splashed and criminals could do with a bit of a boost. Architect would be great to see more of to provide a counter to ice destruction.
+Temujin -Desperado would be an acceptable change, IMO. I donât know if itâd happen though. +Temujin alone would really hamstring Criminals. I wouldnât be surprised to see LARLA, EoI, or SAU on the list.
Still wish theyâd just do restricted lists. Faust/D4v1d. EoI/BN. Clone Chip/Parasite.
Or ban EoI.
EoI ban seems pretty harsh, especially because there are a lot of reasonable options for tag removal or prevention.
I think an errata to Temujin to make it 3 influence instead of 2 would be better than adding it to MWL. Would prevent Criminal from dropping further, while helping to curb out-of-faction uses of it.
Iâd be curious to see how the meta might shift if PPVP came off the list. Iâd definitely consider running an event-heavy Smoke PPVP deck, which I think would viably compete with PPVP Kate decks. Not sure that would add enough diversity back to the runner side, though.
Maybe an errata to CTM? I donât knowâŚI feel like a ton of Anarch and NBN cards are already on the list, but it isnât changing anything.
Desperado is still the dominant Crim console; it wonât come off MWL.
Errata is evil, no cards currently need errata. (Not even BN, though thatâs the closest.)
I could see SAU or EoI added to MWL; Probably SAU.
PPVP still does the same things that got it on the MWL in the first place; it wonât come off MWL.
I disagree that they need to do anything about PS/AD Combo.
I think the only changes should be:
On:
Temujin
Off:
Prepaid
I think Lady could come off too.
I agree that Temujin is a likely target for the list, but it seems like itâs been the economic shot in the arm that runners need to keep up with asset spam without including cards with little or no value against asset-light decks. I suspect one or two of CtMâs worst offenders will be paired with it; SAU seems likely.
Temujin wonât go onto MWL.
It came out too recently.
On: Temujin, Rumor Mill
Off: Pre-paid.
Iâm not big on the idea of Temujin going on. An increase of one inf seems fine. Its Temujin out of faction thats the issue I feel.
Criminals are still fairly dependant on run based economy. Less influence means they canât import the better breakers they need, which means they need a more robust economy to compensate. Itâs a vicious cycle.
+1 inf is definitely better design, but not worth the cost of an errata in my opinion. The fewer the better, especially for functional errata (which I suppose this isnât but stillâŚ).
The problem with putting Temujin on MWL is that pretty much every single faction except anarch needs it with these ridiculous assets floating around. For any kind of diversity anyway, Mopus shaper can still play but non-mopus shaper decks have horrible econ.
CTM isnât as strong now as people think.
Only changes would be:
- Temujin, Food (because of its ubiquity).
- Desperado (its appearance on the MWL hasnât changed the fact that its the best crim console - its still played regardless so this is nothing more than a 3 infl tax on criminal; they should just print better crim consoles to compete with it)
Do you think that FFG expected Temujin to be as good as it is? Or did they think that all the resource punishment that theyâve released recently would hold it in check?
I wouldnât put Global Food on the MWL because it allows for so many different archetypes. Itâs already one influence for everyone, making it two would make the game less diverse.
