Post MWL NBN FA

Well, there’s at least quite a few different options. If you use the inf of Turtles on something else, but still keep the Sponsors, I think Special Offer can be a very good include. It could be in that situation too, just haven’t seen good use of it myself.

A great example of when it’s easier to play online.

I hope they account for this at worlds so everyone will have enough room to play.

The first few rounds, until I was able to get up to the spacious upper tables (a coincidence, as they didn’t space them back tighter from AGOT the previous day), my mat was overlapped by mats on both sides, and I held my counter tray in my lap, SO, good luck.

Didn’t you see? The Worlds playmats this year are 7" x 48".

I had a store tournament after Universe dropped. Deck went undefeated but I ran out of table in all but one of my games. I’ve started layering cards like ingredients in a sub.

Best thing about this picture is the opponent’s face.

Another advantage of playing online is the opponent will not notice when you start looking at all your facedown cards. It is kind of annoying having to do so in real life, but it is easy to lose track of where is what.

Just took down the local 10-week league playoffs with this. The deck is undefeated locally and has a very strong win-rate on OCTGN. In this deck the Astro token is used almost exclusively for helping to score GFI, but it still creates pressure, forcing the runner to spend resources running centrals when they need to be camping the remote. Sansan and Ash are used for playing a Catch-22 never-advance game where the runner is screwed whether they run your scoring remote or not. A GFI on a Sansan with an Astro counter can be scored from 0 advancements for the game.

The deck only has 8 non-15-minutes agendas, the runner needs 4 to win, and you have 3 Business shows. This gives you immense control over the game.

Troll is incredible, it’s actually very good as the bottom ICE in an Ash remote, since the runner is often click-starved when running in the second time (espeically if Ichi is on the remote also), allowing you to trace them out, using the troll as a sort of back-up Ash. Obviously Troll + pop-up window is a great early-game R&D for a glacier deck.

The asset economy really works here. If the runner trashes PADs you often get a scoring window for an Astro. If they leave your drip you can slow the game to a slog and overwhelm them with your awesome late-game ICE + 3x Ash.

Use 15 minutes as an advance-able trap. IA or IAA it and make the runner run your scoring remote. If they leave it you can just score it at no loss to you, and if they make that run it usually loses them the game.

Only having 1 non-Eli barrier is awesome. If the runner installs their Corroder then it does almost nothing, but if they wait to play it until they see a barrier then you can wait to flip your Wraparound at a key moment to lock them out.

They say scoring a 3/2 at 0 points is trivial for a glacier deck. If that’s true why not score an Astro!

I’ve been playing a similar deck for a while out of NEH. Same broken agenda suite, ashes, sansans, tollbooths. I don’t use trolls or draco without making news credits, but the NEH draw gives you a good, brisk pace that I’ve found more important than the benefits from other NBN IDs. Overall I really like the taxing NBN style.

Awesome! Always nice to see new NBN builds, on paper it seems flexible and strong. Have you experimented with Surveillance Sweep at all?

Really like this - but is Marked really better than Product Placement here?

@Zolend: I’d try it if it cost 0. The tempo hit hurts. Trace 6 on ash is usually good enough that they never pay it. It would only really be good with Assassin, since Archangel always hits when it fires, Troll usually fires, Draco gets broken, and Ichi gets clicked.

@hhooo They do totally different things. Marked accounts helps in the very very very long game. It’s CRITICAL against denial decks. It also lets you offshore your money to help bounce back against Siphon and Vamp. Feel free to try Product Placement. I haven’t and it may be very good. Probably a meta call. I always seem to have the clicks to load Marked. Marked also often drains a click from the runner when they check it, which is a nice bonus when it happens.

Are we going to need to change this topic to Post NAPD Most Wanted List NBN?

The cost of Architect, Astro and Sansan hurts but seeing as these changes destroyed PPVP Kate I think it may be a net buff for NEH FA/rush decks if there are no top tier decks rocking Clot with Clone Chip recursion :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t tested anything yet but it seems like even a standard NEH list would still be viable missing Architect, Eli and functioning at 12 Influence for 3 Astros and 2 Sansans.

Nobody remember Sacrificial Construct?

3x SanSan + 3x Astro + 2x Biotics and you still have enough spare influence for either 1x Architect or 3x NAPD. I think I’m going to go with Architect for the last of my influence as NBN in-faction sentries aren’t that amazing if the runner is willing to go tag-me.

Previously I had 2x Ichi 2x Architect in my deck but now I’m thinking of adding either Assassin, Turnpike (best of the tagging ice) or just not having more than a single sentry. With Faust being so common currently, there isn’t as much reason to have different types of ICE since you’re not going to force them to fetch a different breaker and you might as well use the more taxing code gates/barriers.

So the general consensus is that NEH FA is the strongest or at least one of the strongest decks in the post-MWL environment but no one is talking about it here. I understand that some people may be keeping tech secret for the upcoming SC season but there’s still a bunch of questions about NEH and I’m curious what other people think.

  1. What to do with our spare 3 influence?
We’re locked into 3 SanSans/3 Astros/2 Biotics but I’ve seen Swordsman, Architect, Team Sponsorship, Rototurret, NAPD all competing for that last bit of influence. With so little influence to spend, what we do with it seems high impact.

  2. What’s the Noise/Anarch matchup like?
Orange is the new green and it looks like most runners are switching away from kate towards some flavor of anarch. I believe NEH was slightly favored against Noise pre-MWL but is that still true with weaker ice? Is it worth teching against Noise with 3 CVS + team sponsorship? What about Eater or Regular Anarch?

  3. What ice suite do we run?
Losing 6 influence and Eli + Architect getting +1 influence means we have to redo our ice suite. The only ice that is is a surefire include is wraparound though I expect most people are using some combination Tollbooth, Quandary, Enigma, Popup Window, Resistor. That still leaves the question of what sentries people are running and if they are willing to spend influence to go for out of faction ones.
